I think all the sperels I’ve been sketching will need to be colored sometime soon, yes? Here’s a quick color test on the baby sperel that turned out kinda cool. Final piece forthcoming.
Rufus chillin with Kermit at the Edmonds Waterfront Festival
Looks like Rufus is ready to kick off the summer in proper fashion with sandcastle buckets and lounge chairs :)
Oh hey, by the way, if you guys get the chance this weekend you should check out Justin Hillgrove’s Imps & Monsters at the Edmonds Arts Fest (Booth 740). My sperels just recently discovered his work and they are big fans! His paintings are so awesome! Also, I believe he may even have some new plushies on hand?
Following Fanime, the sperels want to cosplay all the more now! While Mr. Sperelman doesn’t (yet?) have the skills to make cute little costumes for them, he is able to sketch out their cosplay ideas to make artwork that would be perfect on some new buttons/pins! Maybe this Kick A$$ sperel will see you at SacAnime?

So check me out, cosplaying for the first time this past weekend at Fanime! As far as I remember, the photographer who shot this was the only one with super pro gear who took my picture, but I must have had my picture taken by at least 100 or so other photographers throughout the 2 days that I was suited up.
Request: if you took (or see) any more photos of me as Kick A$$, please let me know! I’d love to see them all! You can either message me or tag your photo(s) with #Sperelman (that’s me!) and I will see.

Rufus made a new friend in one of the back rooms at school
Hmmm… one wonders what sort of mischief they were/are up to with the three hole punch and the staple gun?

My Sperel finally had to get glasses.
Another sperel looking quite sophisticated in a new pair of glasses. Has this sperel met Sir Thomas Erde? They have something in common!
This sperel tends to be a bit overeager in his melmire-harvesting duties. As evidenced by his injuries, he has on more than one occasion risked his own safety for no benefit other than the gratification of exceeding his daily harvesting quota. Unfortunately, factory management only encourages future recklessness by failing to identify this sperel’s so called “noble, self-sacrificing work ethic” for what it really is: a debilitating form of slavery-induced psychosis.
(Sperels are not expendable. Save The Sperels!)
Sneaking out of the factory - this sperel looks like it means business!
This sperel appears to be waiting eagerly for something? What could it be?
